Some Books to Use to Start Planning Your Visit

Walking in Baltimore: an intimate guide to the Old City
By: Frank R Shivers. Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press, 1995. • ISBN: 0801848725
Although 10 years old, this is a really cool title with walking tours of different parts of town. The tours point out architectural details and historic places. Some of the places highlighted include: Edgar Allen Poe's burial place (see our Wayfaring map, point 17) , Babe Ruth's birth place, where Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald lived, and the neighborhoods from The Accidental Tourist and Marnie.

I'm also looking at
Baltimore Magazine, "Best of Baltimore 2005" (August 2005)

and
The Insiders' Guide to Baltimore
by Bob Graham; Elizabeth A Evitts; Nancy Jones-Bonbrest
Guilford, Conn.: Globe Pequot Press, 2002.* ISBN: 0762712120

You might try a Yahoo search on: "Baltimore (Md.)" "Description and travel." site:worldcatlibraries.org
or
"Baltimore (Md.)" "Guidebooks." site:worldcatlibraries.org

Update: Annie suggests: "The Baltimore Book:New Views of Local History" by Elizabeth Fee, Linda Shopes, and Linda Zeidman, from Temple University Press, c1991. (reprinted in 1994).
(on Amazon), Thanks Annie!

I'd also like to recommend a book that my mom edited. "The Baltimore Book:New Views of Local History" by Elizabeth Fee, Linda Shopes, and Linda Zeidman, from Temple University Press, c1991.
